Neurotechnology was founded in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 1990 with the key idea of using neural networks for applications such as biometric person identification, computer vision, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
The company successfully endured the “neural networks winter” by continuing to use and expand its expertise through to 2012, when major developments in deep neural networks accelerated the adoption of deep learning technologies. This enabled Neurotechnology to rapidly take advantage of emerging opportunities in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and other AI-driven applications.
Today, the company employs more than 100 people, with 15% holding PhDs and approximately half of the workforce actively involved in research and development activities.
